*** NON-AGGRESSION PACT ***

--a pact against personal, economic, political and environmental aggression--

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED having the courage to stand as individuals against the evils and injustices we see perpetrated against our fellow man and against the atrocities perpetrated against the environment in which we live do hereby wish it to be known our objection and our beliefs.

WHEREAS governments have proven themselves to be inept, to oppose real or significant change and to merely enforce the status quo and thus it is useless at best, and an abdication of personal responsibility at worst, to look to government as a catalyst to change.

THEREFORE we act as individuals in order to change the world for the better and to change the world one must first change oneself.

ACKNOWLEDGING that adherence to this pact will require much effort and vigilance for the rest of ones life.

TO THESE ENDS we therefore establish and provide certain fundamental precepts measuring our conduct toward one another, and toward others:

FIRST, that we declare that every human being is an end in themselves, and not the means to the ends, or the welfare of, others, and that ones needs may never become a claim over another and make another ones slave. Therefore one neither sacrifices oneself to others nor sacrifices others to oneself. And thus we hold that an individual has the right to exercise sole dominion over their own life and the products of that life, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of another to live in whatever manner they choose and holding no obligation binding among individuals excepting those to which they voluntarily and explicitly consent.

SECOND, that we do not believe in nor advocate the initiation of force, or threat of same, either personally or collectively, as a means of achieving political, social, or personal goals.

THIRD, that we shall regard rights to be neither collective nor additive in character -- two individuals shall have no more rights than one, nor shall two million nor two thousand million -- nor shall any group possess rights in excess of those belonging to its individual members.

FOURTH, that through trade or commerce we shall not exploit, or be complicit in the exploitation of, another. Nor shall we engage in, or be complicit in any form of, environmental pillage.

FIFTH, that by any reasonable means at our disposal we shall leave the smallest environmental footprint possible and not leave our excesses as a mortgage on future generations or on our neighbours.

SIXTH, recognising that we do not exist in a social vacuum, that to the extent that we are able and willing, we shall assist any person or cause that, in our sole opinion, we deem as worthy.

AND SO in full knowledge of the duties we freely commit ourselves to we do hereby agree to and sign this Pact.
